CBD is hitting the headlines and thousands of people are consuming it regularly. But it is not that simple, as media coverage and mouth to mouth recommendations of cosmetics or food supplements containing CBD can quickly become confusing
So whether you've bought some CBD and you're not sure what to do with it or you've taken it but you want to make sure you've used it well, we've got some hot tips on how to get the best out of it!
You Need the Right Amount
We have this as #1 because it is THE most common mistake when taking CBD. Getting the right amount is incredibly important, most people either are taking a low-quality product or aren't taking enough CBD.
This comes down to a number of factors, all of which are individual - to make it simple there are guidelines, but in the end, you have to do you! If we simplify this, it can come down to the weight of the individual, bio-availability (how well it's absorbed) and concentration of the liquid. The bigger you are the more you have to take. Play around with it, if it doesn't work for you, up the amount - but generally start off with what is suggested on the packaging.
Give It Time
Time is of the essence, and no one likes spending money on something that doesn't work. Although, sometimes, "good things come to those who wait" could not be more applicable!
Quality Not Quantity
Unfortunately many commercial retailers now stock products that have very low concentrations of CBD. Realistically if there are tinctures or tablets that are under 10mg a dose then you're probably looking in the wrong place.
There are mark-able differences in concentration and quality. Some mainstream retailers have labelled products as "strong" or "extra-strong" and even they are the lower end of the market in terms of strength. The best way to compare the concentration of products is to see how many milligrams they contain, rather than relying on the product names.
High Hopes Can Kill the Dream
That's right, sometimes expectation can outweigh the gains. Not to sound like a spoil sport but CBD doesn't solve everything! If your expectation is for you to "feel" high or a sudden onset then maybe it's time to lower your expectation. It takes a little while for your body to absorb CBD.
The correlation CBD has with Marijuana and the large claims seen in the media means that many people are approaching CBD with the wrong mindset. Approaching it with realistic expectations as you would with any other product is your best bet!
